On June 16th, I will be taking part in the annual 54-mile London to Brighton charity bike ride, this year raising money for the fantastic mental health charity Mind alongside 40 of my other colleagues at Sky.

I'm incredibly excited to ride for Mind as part of a wider charity initiative, Miles for Mind, which I have been leading around mental health and getting people more active, two things I'm very passionate about. Last Summer, I did a 2-day course to become a trained Mental Health First Aider, which really opened my eyes to the need for charities such as Mind, with 1 in 6 people in the UK experiencing a common mental health problem in any given week. The course also taught me how beneficial physical activity can be in supporting mental health. The wider initiative includes a 15km sponsored walk for 400 members of Sky during Mental Health Awareness Week in May, alongside bringing 40 cyclists along to this London to Brighton event. Across the two events, we are hoping to raise £56,000 for Mind, which will make a huge difference to mental health around the UK!

A £20 donation could help Mind's Infoline answer calls, giving people vital support. £50 could help Mind campaign for better mental health services from the Government, ensuring that people get the support they need, as soon as they need it. £100 could pay the cost of one of Mind's Infoline or Legal Line advisors for a whole day.
