Story
having a service dog that can help me when I get overwhelmed I wanted to help others and this is the best way to do that, putting myself through a little hardship in order to help others is the best way to do that, so please help me and my K9 Bruno fundraise for other sufferers of PTSD
Me and my K9 Bruno will be running 100k
/ 60 miles over the cotswolds June 24th, running through the night until the distance is reached.
We are unique in our approach as we partner rescue dogs (who have often had very tough lives) with the veterans who train them (under supervision) over a nine-month period. We do this through an incredible network of volunteers (there's 20 of us) who give up Wednesdays and Saturdays to work with our professional trainers.
Working positively with dogs has a profound effect on veterans wellbeing, all of whom have PTSD as a result of their line of duty. Many of these veterans have already tried every type of counselling and therapy available. But, they often find that working with a dog is the most effective way to help them through their trauma.
