Story
Next year, the four of us are trading our cosy sofas for a crazy adventure: a 350 km bike ride across India! Yes, you read that right – 350 km! We’re starting in the towering Western Ghats on the west coast of the Indian Peninsula and pedalling our way to the coastal paradise of Alleppey/Alappuzha.
On Day 4, we’re in for a treat: a 1900m climb in the sizzling heat. If that doesn’t sound challenging enough, imagine doing it with sunburn and a bike seat that feels like a cactus.
Why are we doing this, you ask? Are we gluttons for punishment? Maybe. But more importantly, we’re doing it for the amazing charity Marie Curie. They provide top-notch care and support for people and families facing the end of life. Their nurses and hospices are like superheroes in scrubs, delivering comfort and care wherever it’s needed – even in your own home.
And get this: Mike will be 74 when we tackle this beast of a ride! The rest of us – Paul, Dave, and Dave – aren’t exactly Tour de France material either. We’re more like the Three Stooges on wheels, plus one wise sage (that's Mike).
So, please, dig deep and donate generously to this incredible cause. Marie Curie's services are ones we all might need someday.
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.
Thanks for your support!
Mike, Paul, Dave, and Dave
