Story
I am proud to be fundraising for the Posse Foundation for the 6th year in a row and serving as the Chair of Posse Atlanta for the 5th year. Posse’s work is more significant today than ever before, given the recent Supreme Court decision to end race-based affirmative action in higher education admissions. Yes, the majority of Posse Scholars are students of color, many of them are first generation and with significant need, but Posse does not screen for these things. In fact, Posse is the only race-neutral, national college scholarship program focused on finding the leaders of tomorrow who celebrate diversity as a strength.
Posse was inspired by a student who said he never would have dropped out of college if he'd had his posse with him. The simple idea: send a team (a Posse) of diverse students together to college and set them up for success. Since its inception, Posse Atlanta has already produced over 800 scholars to date and helps with career advancement for over 400 local Posse alumni. Our ultimate goal is to build a leadership network for the Atlanta workforce that represents the diversity of this incredible city. Posse has now supported over 12,000 students nationwide in winning $2.0 billion in scholarships from Posse's partner colleges, with a 90% graduation rate! A truly amazing accomplishment with a 5:1 return on every dollar that is donated resulting in partner school scholarship support.
I ask that you please consider joining me during this Holiday Season in supporting this worthy mission. I am hopeful that with your help we will fund another 10,000 scholars over the next 5 years.
