Story
We are joining the 2024 World AIDS Day RED RUN in support of Positive East & THT!
It also marks one-year anniversary following the trimalleolar fracture with joint dislocation surgery I had after an attack I suffered in Chueca (gaybourhood in Madrid) back in 2023. Since then, I also had a perforated appendix removed in late April 2024. So I am definitely feeling good to aim to run a 5K again for a good cause as well as mark my own recovery and resilience while continuing the physio treatments. I have set a target time of 28 mins and it will be my PB since I had some orthopedic plate and nails.
Your generosity is much appreciated and I am also very grateful for your support in my own recovery over last year. I’d be pleased to get you a beverage or drink if you show up in person on 23rd Nov at Victoria Park (I should be done with the run around 13h00 to 13h15 on the day). A few of us shall end up around Hackney Wick after 14h30.
The finish line is on the North East side of Victoria Park near to the Harriers Hall (E9 5EG).
PS, 2 post-op photos plus 1 post-op X-ray from a year ago are included on the page (zoom in with caution). Plus the map of the run.
