Story
On Sunday 28th April, participants will test their head for heights with this thrilling 120ft abseil down the iconic Europa Hotel in Belfast, in support of Air Ambulance NI.
The charity Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI), in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the one and only Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland. Twice a day the air ambulance is needed (on average) to help a critically ill or injured patient.
When needed, the team fly at approximately 180mph, direct to the patient. The doctor and paramedic on board, bring emergency care to the scene of the incident, delivering interventions that can be life-saving.
It is through charity fundraising events like this that allows the service to operate 365 days of the year, for everyone of us. For more information about the service, please visit www.airambulanceni.org.
