Mike's fundraiser for The Ickle Pickles

11 miles on foot with weight in back pack · 29 March 2025
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ok this is a long write up , so on 19th November 2024 my wife Samantha Cole and myself started a very unexpected journey and our son Taite Eric Cole was born 6 weeks early.
We had no idea what we was about to experience throughout the following month and it has definitely been an eye opener for us both on how life can be so unpredictable.
During Taite's time in neonatal ward i myself noticed we wasn't alone on such a roller coaster of emotions and so many other parents shared the same tears , hurt and happiness as us both. But I also noticed how the ward had a shortage of hot cots for the babies that's could move onto thier next step. This shortage obviously causes a shortage of incubators for the new pre term born.
For me this hit me hard and was not nice to see or hear of this. The staff on the neonatal ward are all fantastic for doing all they do and when Taite got his day to come home after just over a month in hospital i made a promise I would do something to help raise funds for them to get more hot cots.....
So here is my plan for end of March I Intend to run, jog , walk from westerham into borough green...
Now this is just below half a marathon in distance however this is all about being un prepared so not only will I do the distance but I will do the entire distance with a weighted back pack.....
Many will say that's mad and it will hurt but its for a good cause and I've done alot of hurting throughout this rollercoaster of mixed emotions so this will be a breeze in comparison.
I will set up a donation page and look forward to any kind of help and support in doing this as I say it's not for me but for many families that may need them hot cots
