Story
My daughter Cheryl has been suffering with Endometriosis since 2008. It took until 2013 for her to be officially diagnosed with it. On average it takes 8 years from onset of symptoms to diagnosis. Endometriosis is an extremely painful condition where tissue, similar to, the lining of the womb, starts growing in other places, such as the ovaries, bowel, bladder and the fallopian tubes.
1 in 10 women in the UK are currently living with this debilitating condition, the cause of which is unknown and there is no definite cure, only treatments to help relieve the severity where possible.
Cheryl has already undergone two surgeries and will undergo another in September. I have witnessed the pain my daughter has had to live with for 16 years now and how her life is affected daily by this chronic condition, the debilitating pain, and infertility.
Endometriosis UK are the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, raising awareness, and providing vital resources, information, and research. They are determined to ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.
On 29 June I will be participating in a personal challenge to climb Kilimanjaro and have set myself the fundraising goal of £1,500. I would greatly appreciate your help in raising as much money as possible to help combat this awful condition. The charity receives minimal funding for the work they do. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and bring hope to individuals battling endometriosis like my daughter Cheryl.
Don't forget to Gift Aid if you can too! The charity can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.
Thank you.
