Story
In October 2024 my dad Mike Lowe sadly passed away almost 3 months to the day after a sudden diagnosis of an aggressive brain cancer which progressed very quickly.
In July 2025, 2 days before our dad’s birthday, my brother, my sister in law, and I have challenged ourselves to take on the Gower Peninsula Mighty Hike - 14.5 miles with nearly 500m ascent.
This event is the reason for our fundraising efforts - but we'll be keeping busy with a couple of other challenges before and after that, including:
- My lovely best friend Charlie running Queenstown Marathon November 2024
- Me running Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2025
All challenges are being done to to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support - a charity vital for supporting other people like my dad and families like mine. Please help us reach £1000 which can pay for 4 Macmillan nurses for one day to enable them to continue their vital work.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
