Hi there! We’re Liv and Alex, and thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page for this year’s London Marathon, in support of a fantastic charity, Save The Children.

Why Save the Children? Well we’re glad you asked!

On top of helping millions of children worldwide get access to the medicine, food and education they need and deserve, we also have a close family connection as well…

Some of you will have met our beautiful grandmother, Olive, going strong at 89 years old, down in gorgeous Gower, South Wales. She’s an amazing woman generally and, more specifically, gave decades and decades of her life serving as Chairwoman of Save The Children Wales. She even got awarded an MBE by the Prince of Wales at Cardiff Castle. What a woman!

More importantly though, it was Olive who taught us deeply to value what we’re lucky enough to have, and always to share what we can with people who need it more. She was and remains an absolutely fierce philanthropic phenomenon, and we owe her such a huge amount.

So we’re running this year for Olive, and the 45 million children and counting that Save the Children has and continues to help. By donating whatever you can spare, large or small, you’ll be helping to provide thermal jackets to keep children warm, water purification tablets, cholera diagnostic tests, maternal hygiene kits - the list goes on - and into the places where they’re so desperately needed, both in the UK and beyond.
