Story
Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological condition worldwide. While there is no cure, research shows that exercise can slow its progression - helping people maintain mobility, independence, and quality of life.
In the UK, an estimated 153,000 people are living with Parkinson’s. In Merton alone, a 2015 study estimated that over 4,600 residents had long-term neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s.
After listening to individuals living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions, AFC Wimbledon Foundation identified a clear need for a specialist Walking Football programme tailored to their needs.
I am douing this bike ride to help:
Provide high-quality coaching tailored to people with Parkinson’s
Purchase specialist equipment to create a safe playing environment
Keep sessions affordable and accessible to those who need them most
By sponsoring my cycle challenge, you’re not just supporting a football session -you’re helping people stay active, social, and supported in their journey with Parkinson’s.
