Where to start...
The Challenge- Juggling Motherhood (Teenagers & a 'full on' One Year old!), Working Full time in the world of Social Care- never enough hours in the day & often putting in more because 'We Care' and trying to use any gap in between to clock up miles in preparation for... LONDON MARATHON!!
Apologies to all my lovely colleagues for suffering me being a bit smelly after squeezing in lunchtime runs where possible!
Why?- Originally 4years ago a lucky/unlucky ballot place- COVID cancelled that plan and when the time came round to try again I was pregnant with Isla- 4Years later I'm here.. older, a lot less fitter & sleep deprived!
When I considered how much of a huge challenge this event will be for me I reflected on another challenging period where I suffered with significant anxiety struggles to which running hugely helped- although nothing quite like this event. I also know that there was a time where I struggled massively in busy social settings to the point of avoidance so these crowds & the huge number of participants won't be easy!
With this in mind Ive set up the opportunity to support a home grown local charity Kelly's Heros- Supporting people suffering with mental health challenges. A charity extremely close to the heart of my parents and surrounding friends following the sad loss of Kelly Hewitt.
Thank you for taking the time to read and allowing me the opportunity to feel accountable and committed to shuffling over the finish line on April 21st
