In October 2025, I received a life-changing diagnosis of breast cancer. Initially, only my right breast was affected, but after an MRI scan, I learned that cancer had also developed in my left breast. This led to a bilateral mastectomy in February 2026. I had planned to dye my hair pink as a symbol of strength and hope, but chemotherapy had other plans—my hair began falling out rapidly. Tonight, I will bravely shave my head earlier than expected, embracing this new chapter with courage and determination.

Throughout this journey, I have remained positive thanks to the unwavering support of a remarkable local charity called "Help Harry Help Others." They have provided me with counselling, reiki, and friendship—offering comfort and strength when I needed it most. This charity was founded by a young boy who understood the importance of support for those affected by cancer. Despite his passing at just 11 years old, his legacy lives on through the centre that offers emotional, financial, and practical assistance to families facing similar battles.

The centre operates on £850 daily without any government or NHS funding—a significant challenge in today’s climate. They rely entirely on the kindness of individuals and businesses to continue their vital work in the community.
