Story
As many of you know, I have been spending my Friday evenings for the last 3 years in the church hall across the street from the Knightsbridge School, helping to feed the homeless with Restart Lives. It is an incredible organisation that is trying to help these men and women better their lives through counselling, career guidance, housing support, mental health treatment and much more. I play a very small part by going and chatting to these incredibly kind and gracious people while they have a hot home cooked meal and get out of the elements for a few hours. I have gotten to know many of the guests and look forward to hearing about their weeks, sharing a joke and trying to bring some brightness to their Friday. They give me so much more back by showing determination to try to improve their circumstances. I look forward to seeing them and worry about them when they don’t show up.
Restart is a very small charity and the sleepout is our main fundraiser that provides all the financial support for the year. We don’t yet have large corporate sponsors and operate on a shoestring. Grace and I will be sleeping out on Dec 6 in support of this amazing charity and thank you in advance for any support you can provide. X
