I was due to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon on behalf on Meeting Needs, a charitable foundation but alas my old lady hips did not agree but I’m still taking part.

Instead of running I will be cycling 100 miles on my Peloton at the same time as my team are running!

Meeting Needs was set up 21 years ago by senior members of the events industry and during that time has raised over £1m. Money raised is distributed by way of grants of up to £5000 to vetted charities. Any money distributed is to be used for a specified project. Projects supported over the years range from building a water harvesting system in Tanzania for Champion Chanzige, furnishing rooms for Ella's to provide safe houses, care and community for survivors of trafficking and supporting Electric Umbrella to create a free to access online programme of live interactive music-based sessions for any learning disabled people in the UK to attend multiple times per week, all year.
