One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

Just read that again! One in four! This is a charity I wish I had know about many moons ago. Maybe I could have got help and got out sooner.

I had a very controlling, mentally, physically abusive partner who couldn't take no for an answer. I lived in constant fear, not knowing what would next set him off, constant fear of him returning home and not knowing what version of him would return. Not feeling I had anyone to turn to as he was charming and people loved him. Surely they would never believe little old me if I told them the things he did to me as he was liked by everyone. I felt hopeless and felt there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me.

I am now in a wonderful place, with a wonderful husband and 3 amazing children. I want to be able to help others get out, become free and with the help of this charity, make that possible for every single woman.
