Story

I feel so privileged to be chosen as one of the models to take part in Friends of Anchors, COURAGE ON THE CATWALK 2024 alongside 23 other courageous ladies who’ve all been diagnosed with a cancer diagnosis, ranging from age 18 to 77 years young. I’m very excited and also super nervous 😬

As someone who’s had a cancer diagnosis and received treatment at the anchor unit, During my treatment which was tough, tougher than I care to admit at times and through volunteering, I’ve met so many inspirational people 🥰, I know first hand the support given to all patients on their cancer journey, so much so I became a volunteer on the welcome team. It’s amazing what a welcoming smile can do as the lift doors open at the anchor unit, they truly do care. From a welcoming smile and daily rounds with the complimentary treat trolley, a chat that always cheer you up, to the ongoing complementary therapies they offer, research into diagnosis, cures and treatments and also investing in leading technology to funding vital research, the list goes on, it’s all about the patients 🥰 This is a charity very close to myself and family, a charity representing Cancer and haematology diagnosis. They have helped me throughout my treatment and recovery more than they will ever know. They ensure cancer and haematology patients receive the best possible care, treatment and support through every bit of the journey. Every penny raised will help make a direct difference as all the charity’s running costs from postage to salaries are covered by Balmoral Group.

I think this is a great opportunity to help raise awareness, we all know someone who’s had a cancer diagnosis, whether it’s yourself, a family member, friend or colleague. I also hope my taking part in this amazing event, gives hope to everyone who’s on a cancer journey.

Together we can make a difference 😘

I will post updates of rehearsals etc and of course footage of the big day itself.

Thanks for donating, no matter how small, it’s very much appreciated.
