Story

Our exciting news

Rennie Grove Peace Hospice and Green Connections CIC are excited to share their plans to offer wonderful, uplifting wellbeing sessions this Summer which will bring joyful moments to patients and their families who are facing life limiting conditions.

We are confident that this partnership will reduce extreme loneliness by creating life enhancing community connections and peer support for both patients and carers. We need your help to raise money to provide these soul restoring well being sessions which will bring comfort and hope to patients and their families. Your generous contribution can help us make a significant impact in their lives.

Allow us to introduce you to Anne. At the age of 96, Anne was diagnosed with incurable breast cancer for the first time in her life. The desperation, loneliness and fear that she felt were overwhelming.

With support from Green Connections, Anne was able to have moments when she wasn't thinking about her illness, but instead feeling excited and proud of herself as flowers started to grow on her calendula plant which she grew on her windowsill at home. During an otherwise bleak time when she faced worsening health, growing her calendula plant gave Anne something to look forward to and something to talk to her family and friends about.

Our Wellbeing Activities

At Green Connections, we know that it's the little things, like growing plants and admiring Van Gogh's Sunflower paintings, that make people happy.

We passionately believe that every moment counts and it's the little things that help us cope during our most challenging moments, especially for those facing the challenges of a progressive life-limiting illness.

Through simple mixed creative arts and green care activities, like planting spring bulbs or growing sunflowers, our team of expert health and arts professionals inspire and empower people to pursue their passions by feeling safe to be themselves with others, achieving their dreams or heartfelt wishes, whilst belonging to a supportive local community network.
