Myself and my friend Paul are going to cycle/walk 150 miles for my 16 year old daughter Keira.

In August 2023 Keira developed a large lump on her neck. After many hospital appointments it was decided that in December the surgeon would remove half her Thyroid and the lump, there were no concerns at this time.

On the 31st January we received the devastating news that the lump was in fact Follicular Cancer. 2 weeks later they removed the remainder of her Thyroid.

Keira has been an inspiration and has never once let this diagnosis hinder anything that she can achieve. She has had to adjust to taking daily medication & home schooling and even taking reduced exams but she has still been determined to go and do the things she loves…Taekwondo and Dance.

Keira is due to have radio-iodine treatment in the next couple of weeks which should hopefully kill off any remaining cancer cells.

The way Keira has coped with everything over the last 6 months has been truly amazing so now it’s our turn to give something back to a fantastic charity.

I’ve not ridden a bike for over a year but I’m determined to do this for my gorgeous girl.
