Story
I've chosen Combat Stess as this chairty supports two important aspects of British life that I am passionate about . Working with veteran and supporting to improve mental wellbeing.
My grandfather Hugh served on HMS Blankney during the second world war and this experience affected him and his family.
My other grandfather Ray was a paratrooper during WW2 and the impact of his service had an affect on my mother and her family.
I saw this first hand growing up. This is why support to service personnel and veterans is so important.
Combat Stress are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.
For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
They’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, they’re there to help them tackle the past and take on the future.
