Story
Mike bravely fought cancer for five years and during this time he continued to try and live life to the full. He took on every treatment offered to him with belief and hope - he never gave up.
He continued to play high level Bridge; 'Walking rugby'; studying German; carried on with work and enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved Labrador Minny. He said in the last few weeks of his life that he had had 'A wonderful life'.
Mike and Mary were supported by the team at Macmillan Centre at East Surrey Hospital for which they were enormously grateful. Mike asked for any donations in his memory to be kindly given to the centre to benefit others going on a similar journey to him. The centre and garden are an oasis of calmness, hope and support. Any monies raised will go directly to the Macmillan Centre.
The centre has an Open Garden once a year, usually in June.
Thank you for donating in Mike's name, he would be so happy and touched that you would like to donate to help those battling cancer. Your donation will enable more patients and families to receive so much support and joy through contact with such an wonderful centre.
