Story
UPDATE - Having reached my previous fundraising targets, I am climbing climbing Fan-y-Big Mountain in the Brecon Beacons in June and partaking in a burlesque workshop at a date yet to be confirmed.
I'm taking part in the Spring Challenge during Sober Spring in 2024 (20 March to 20 June) to support Alcohol Change UK.
I'll be doing a 5K in Southend on 26 May, which for me personally, is a significant challenge due to weight and previous injury.
As part of the training for the challenge, I will mount the comically-titled Lord Hereford's Knob (2,260ft high mountain in South Wales on 27 April).
If I reach £750, I will do the 5k in an orange sports bra and tutu (The Alcohol Change UK colour).
If I reach the dizzying heights of £1,000, I will do something else ridiculous in June, yet to be voted upon.
About Alcohol Change UK
We are Alcohol Change UK. We work for a society that is free from the harm caused by alcohol.
We are not anti-alcohol; we are for alcohol change. We are for a future in which people drink as a conscious choice, not a default; where the issues which lead to alcohol problems – like poverty, mental health issues, homelessness – are addressed; where those of us who drink too much, and our loved ones, have access to high-quality support whenever we need it, without shame or stigma.
