Story
Jump completed Thursday 7th September!
Winston's Wish supports bereaved children to help them when they are most vulnerable and believe in a society where every child can get the help they need.
To try and do something that's requires an element of bravery, although a fraction of what these children have to face, I thought it would be a good idea to jump out of a very safe and functioning plane and hurtle towards the Earth with 'only' a parachute to slow my large mass to a much safer speed for landing.
Those close to me know I'm terrified of heights, but I often forget as Beth is even more terrified and it makes me look like a daredevil in comparison (although daredevils do much more impressive acts than peering over a Cornish cliff edge with shaky legs...).
I look forward to screaming for the 30 seconds it takes to freefall 10,000ft, but your contribution will make it all worthwhile!
Donations as little as £5 (plus your gift aid!) can help fund any of the following:
£5 Could provide four specialist publications, which offer parents and professionals advice and guidance on how to help bereaved children cope with their grief.
£8.50 Could enable us to provide one child with a memory box that can be used to store treasured objects, helping them to remember their loved one in a way that is personal to them.
£20 Could cover the cost of operating our website for one day, including Help2MakeSense, a support forum for bereaved young people.
The charity also runs a National Helpline for free on 08088 020 021 which supports 10,000 children a year alongside face-to-face support which helps 1,500 children a year.
