Story

Walk of Hope 2024

Our walks have generated well over £1million for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide, this has enabled the charity to accelerate their growth plans. In 2023 they extended the opening hours of HOPELINEUK from 9am-midnight to a 24-hour, 7 day/week service. We now have HOPELINE247.

PAPYRUS have also been able to open more offices; when 3 Dads Walking first got together PAPYRUS had 5 offices spread across the country, they now have 15 and more in the pipeline. The more offices open, the more activity there is on the ground, the more training delivered, more people introduced to the lifesaving work of the charity and more suicides are prevented. We are very proud to have played a part in enabling PAPYRUS to grow.

Having been asked many times ‘When are you walking down the east side of the country?’ we realised that we could do that by designing our next walk to highlight some of the newly opened (and soon to open) offices in areas we’ve not been to before. The office locations we are linking together are Stirling, Newcastle, Leeds, Hull and Norwich.

2024 will see PAPYRUS further expand their community work, these growth plans will cost an additional £2 million. On our Walk of Hope 2024 we will refocus our efforts on fundraising to help PAPYRUS achieve their goals; our target for this walk is to raise £150,000. Please help us if you can.
