Story
Walking for Kay
On the 20th of July 2024, I will be walking the half marathon (Peak District Mighty Hike) in Memory of my late wife Kay and to raise money for @Macmillan Cancer Support for the wonderful work that they do, and the support/care they gave to Kay.
Late February 2022 Kay was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. What followed was 20 months of treatments, home care, hospital admissions, many highs, and lows.
She was a fighter and so brave. Unfortunately, in November 2023 she lost her fight and sadly passed away.
I was asked by her best friend Joy de Chiro, if I minded her doing this walk in Kay’s memory. Well, it would not have been right for me not to join her.
This will not just be a physical challenge, but also a mental one as we all come to terms with loosing a beautiful person inside and out. I am sure many stories will be shared and no doubt tears along the way.
We will also be joined by other friends and my Sister Eudora Christian and Sister-in-Law Joy Thompson.
Although some separate Just Giving Pages have been set up, my page is here for all of us and to raise as much as we can to hit my target of £2,500. The money will go a long way to helping Macmillan Cancer Support with the work that they do.
I really appreciate all the support that has been given so far.
Thank You
Michael
