Story
The MICDS Turkey Train is an annual MICDS tradition where our entire community gathers together to collect frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items to benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
The “train” is made up of Upper School students lining the walkways and passing turkeys, one-by-one, from the Upper School STEM Building to a garage in the MAC, where the Foodbank truck awaits. Lower and Middle school students roll over thirty barrels of donated Thanksgiving food items to the MAC to complement our turkey donation.
If you choose to make a monetary donation, it will go directly to the St. Louis Area Foodbank in the name of the MICDS Turkey Train to provide additional food items to families over the holidays.
The 2021 MICDS Turkey Train donation totaled 5,719 lbs of non-perishable items, 333 turkeys weighing 4,562 lbs., and $575 through the virtual drive and checks. Our total donations provided 10,693 meals to those facing food insecurity in our area.
Thank you for your support of our annual tradition!
