Story
The interactive whiteboard is an ideal resource to support class teaching, It acts as a focus for children’s attention and increases their engagement. The tool acts as a multi-modal portal, giving teachers the potential to use still images, moving images, videos, sound and touch screen capabilities, and this allows the children to interact with educational games and other interactive materials. Employing multiple senses, like sight, sound and touch helps children remember information better because they’re using multiple parts of the brain when engaging with the interactive whiteboard. This benefits young children who have not yet acquired writing skills, and those with special educational needs, as they are highly motivated by being able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge with the tapping and dragging facilities. When used in this way, it can accommodate a variety of learning styles to enhance the children's learning experience and engage those children who lack interest in adult led activities. This will give the Pre-School children a new fun and engaging method of learning. Our Pre-School children, staff and committee members will be organising and taking part in a number of different fundraising activities throughout the academic year to raise funds.
