Story
In 2017 we lost my brother-in-law Billy to suicide. Billy, who was 49, left behind his four beautiful girls, Chloe, Ellie, Hollie and Emily and countless family and friends.
Despite being separated from my sister, Joanne, Billy co-parented the girls with Joanne and her husband Phil and they had a good relationship. They were left utterly devastated and worked hard to pick up the pieces for the children.
Sadly, Phil's mental health began to decline and on 7th October 2023, Phil lost his battle. He had recently turned 40. He too took his life, leaving behind Joanne, his four step-children, their three children, Lola, Hannah and Olivia, his son Leo and his grandchildren, as well as his family and friends.
Our family has been struck by the tragedy and trauma of two suicides. We cannot have another. We want to get the word out that there is another way; there is help; it is okay to talk.
We are walking from Phil's home town of Northampton to Billy's home town of Bradford to raise money for Andy's Man Club. The walk will take 5 days and we hope to raise as much money as we can, and raise awareness of the charity and all they do for suicide prevention.
Please give as little or as much as you can, and more importantly, spread the word about this amazing charity, who are doing all they can to prevent male suicide.
Thank you.
