"Though those with Alzheimers might forget us. We as a society must remember them."

There are currently 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK and this is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. The scale and the need to prevent, diagnose, support, live and die well with dementia will only become greater.

I will be hosting a charity evening in the memory of our beautiful Mum who passed away on the 15th Of October 2024 after a long illness with Alzheimers Disease, but also to support the families and the individuals who have been impacted by this illness daily. Watching our lovely Mum lose herself to Alzheimers disease over the past ten years is something that nobody should go through, there is so much pain to endure when a loved one is diagnosed with dementia as you don't lose the person once, it is a raw wound of continual loss. But also for the individuals who live with this disease as they forget everything they once knew and loved, as all aspects in life become unknown to them.

I just wanted to share a few words about our loving and caring Mum! Mum was one in a million she was an amazing Mum to six children who live on for her and hope to become half of the woman she was. Mum had an amazing talent of making everyone feel seen and heard and was able to offer words of wisdom what solved all your problems! Mums care for everyone in the world shined through in her love she effortlessly showed, what we will forever cherish! Mum found happiness in the little things from cups of teas and cake to going for a little (not so little) shopping sprees with her girls + Jordan. So In the world what sometimes can seem quite uncertain I hope we all be a bit more like Maggie Loo Loo and show kindness and care to all, and drink lots of cups of tea and spend lots of money unnecessarily shopping!

On the 17th Of January 2025, I will be holding a charity evening for everyone to get involved in taking part in a pub quiz, bingo, raffle and to win some great prizes. With the hope to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimers Society but also to remember the amazing woman we call our Mum.

If anyone is able to donate no matter how big or small to my justgiving page we believe this money combined with the money raised on our fundraise evening can make such a big difference to those impacted by Alzheimers.
