Story
I turned 70 this year in the midst of enjoying the London Livery Life. I discovered there is so much more to Livery than posh dinners and events. It's all about charity and helping others. Last year alone, over £53 Million was distributed.
At a livery dinner I spoke with the Mistress Glover who is fundraising for children who need prosthetic limbs. I was particularly interested since my childhood friend had a teenage daughter who needed a prosthetic leg due to an accident. She is now thriving and getting on with her life.
But what about those who need a prosthetic arm but can't afford it or have to go the NHS route which is long and arduous? That is where the Glovers come in through their charity which has been funding bionic arms since 2018.
So I decided that I would support their cause by going WingWalking in the Cotswolds with "The Mistress Glover's Flying Circus" on July 30th, 2024.
I thought it only appropriate to do this in memory of my dad, Rich Meyer, for it was he who sparked my love of flying. I'm not sure what he'd think of me being on top of the plane instead of flying it but I suspect he'd be behind me!
I would be thrilled if you would support this crazy stunt and mark my 70th with a donation to this worthy cause. For my USA relatives and friends, I have been assured that US$ are accepted. Any amount is appreciated - it all adds up!
With thanks,
Melissa a.k.a. Missy
P.S. I do realize I'm being optimistic saying 70 is my midlife!
