British-Turkish sisters Lara Melda and Melis Azra have been performing together since 2008. Since graduating from the Purcell School and Royal College of Music, both have had flourishing careers in music. Lara (winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition 2010) has received universal critical praise for her recent debut album of Chopin works, and regularly performs in the UK and abroad. Over the years, Melis has developed her passion for teaching and currently balances her busy teaching schedule with occasional performances.

The sisters will be giving a joint piano recital on 19th June at St Margaret’s School, Bushey at 7pm. This will be a concert to raise funds for the Turkey Mozaik Foundation, a grant-giving organisation that provides financial support to small charities registered in Turkey. Recently, Mozaik has been heavily involved with the relief efforts after the devastating earthquakes that have directly impacted around 26 million people in Turkey and Syria.
