Story
In memory of my dad, Mel Bubb, I am raising money for Sue Ryder, who cared for him with such compassion and dignity during the final week of his life as he battled cancer.
No words can truly express how much their support meant to our family at such a difficult time. The kindness, comfort and respect shown to Dad — and to all of us around him — made an unbearable situation just a little easier to face.
Sue Ryder provides incredible care to people living with terminal illness and supports families when they need it most. Their staff gave Dad peace, comfort and dignity in his final days, and for that we will always be grateful.
Running...... I've been doing parkruns for nearly 2 years but still don't find running easy (or enjoyable most of the time). But I feel great when I've finished! I don't consider myself to be a runner - the furthest I've run is 10k, twice - slowly! I'm not someone who feels they need to push themselves to their limits and would much prefer to sit on the sofa with a bag of revels. So not sure what possessed me to sign up for a half marathon.... am slightly terrified. But have said I'll do it now and Dad will be watching from above, so here goes :)
If you are able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it would mean so much and would help Sue Ryder continue to provide this vital care to other families going through the same heartbreak.
Thank you for your support, kindness and for helping us honour Dad’s memory.
