Story

As a voluntary adoption and fostering agency we rely on fundraising to pay for the support we offer our amazing families.

For those of you that haven’t heard of St Andrews Children Society, we’re a charity based in Leith and we find loving homes for children through fostering and adoption.

Most children who come to be fostered and adopted have had an incredibly difficult start in life and the impact of these experiences doesn’t end after they become adopted.

I truly love my job. Not just because I’ve met so many lovely families and amazing kids, but because I get to see every day the impact that good adoption support can have.

I’ll be running the half marathon (21.082k) on the 25th of May 2025 to help raise much needed funds. It’ll be a gruelling couple of hours, but knowing the difference your donations will make in the lives of the children I work with will push me forward (or stop me from throwing myself into a bush).

No donation is too small. It all counts!

Wish me luck!

Mel xx
