I am taking the place of my friend Jo to run the Cardiff 10k on September 3rd in aid of Kidney Wales. Jo now has a date to donate her kidney to her daughter Bex - in August so is unable to run. I think donating a kidney is a good excuse not to run, right?!!

Jo is the most bravest and strongest lady I know and Bex cannot survive without her mum's Kidney. They will forever be connected in many more ways that anyone can imagine. I am more than happy to play my part and run on her behalf... and try to raise the money to be able to enter into the race.

I need to get to £75 for the official t-shirt and £120 to run the race. If you can donate, even the price of your Starbucks or coffeeshop tea and cake, I .. and Jo, would be eternally grateful.

The monies raised have enabled us to provide life saving equipment, fund staff and refurbishments for units and most recently change the law on organ donation in Wales.

Patients are at the heart of everything we do, which has highly influenced our ambition to build a Wellness Centre in Wales for families struggling with the condition daily.
