Story
Heather suggested that we take part in this fundraising event as her daughter, Gillian, has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. The early support and guidance which the charity Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Scotland provided when Gillian was born proved vital to Heather and her family.
I have decided to take part in this to celebrate the life of my aunt, Maureen McPeak, who was a fearless, inspirational woman living with Spina Bifida. Maureen is terribly missed by her family and friends but her contribution to policy, public awareness and the lives of people in Glasgow and beyond, will never be forgotten.
Heather and I are looking forward to, a 150ft adrenaline adventure, launching off from a crane next to the stunning Glasgow Riverside Museum. It is sure to make us scream!
All money raised will go directly towards ensuring that everyone with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus in Scotland is supported and their individual needs are met in order to allow them to live the highest quality of life possible.
