My sister Ella, 15, was diagnosed with an unknown heart condition in February 2021. She has been in and out of Bristol Childrens hospital for the last 3 years having multiple tests, scans and surgeries. June this year Ella underwent heart surgery whilst awake. Ella has been incredibly brave during this anxious time and I am so proud of her. She still has a heart monitor fitted and will require more surgery in the future.

The BHF has helped us as a family by providing online resources such as tips, advice and guidance. Allowing us to understand the medical jargon.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
