I am back again fundraising for the amazing Alder Hey children’s hospital and this time I am throwing myself out of a plane for the big jump 2025! Arguably easier than the triathlon I completed with Rich and our friends and family in July 2024, but still a huge challenge for me never the less!

The vast majority of people know our daughter Nuala’s story and her battle with alveolar soft tissue sarcoma which resulted in exenteration surgery of the orbit (meaning she lost her left eye and all the muscle behind it) and everyone by now knows how important Alder Hey is to us as a family. Though Nuala has been in remission for almost 12 months, we will continue to see our teams in oncology and ophthalmology on a regular basis, with Nuala needing MRI scans under general anaesthetic every 3 months as well as the team who have been working so hard on her pioneering prosthetic.

This year, Jack and Nuala were invited to become charity ambassadors for the hospital and we have been so lucky to attend many of their ambassador events as well as make it a personal goal as a family to keep fundraising for Alder Hey, so they can continue to take care of children like Nuala and their families. I hope nobody ever needs Alder Hey in the capacity we have (or ever!) but thankfully this world renowned hospital is there for our children when we need them.

I have set a target of £350 and would be grateful for any donation, no matter how small you think it is, every penny will go towards funding the latest research and technology as well as the hospitals amazing medicinema for the long term patients to enjoy.
