Story
Those who know me know back in January 2017 we went through hell, my Mum was admitted to the Wessex Neurological Centre at Southampton Hospital due to a subarachnoid haemorrhage (bleed on the brain) from a ruptured aneurysm. After numerous complications, she also suffered a stroke. Mum spent 3 months at Wessex, including time on the intensive care ward. The care she received there was second to none, and she continues to receive exceptional follow-up care from the amazing team at Wessex. 👏🏼
Thankfully, my Mum survived, but she has been left with disabilities and cognitive challenges. Mum started from scratch and had to learn to walk again and also learn to live a new way of life. The last 8 years have been incredibly tough. I am so grateful for the care provided by Wessex and want to give back in any way I can.
That’s why I am participating in the Great South Run 2025 on October 19th, aiming to raise £1,000 for Smile4Wessex. Your support means so much not just to me and my Mum but also to everyone at the Wessex Neurological Centre who works tirelessly for patients like her. Any donations will be greatly appreciated! 💜💜💜
P.S. Wish me luck... back in January, I couldn't even run for one minute! 😅
