Story
I am fundraising for the Children's Brain Tumour Research Fund because I am currently sat feeling helpless at Evie’s bedside, and this feels like all I can do right now other than holding her hand. She is recovering from two life saving operations, just yesterday she had brain surgery to remove a large tumour in her brain, the tumour was blocking the normal flow of fluid that travels around our brains and to our spines, and so was causing a build up in her brain, she needed immediate life saving surgery to have a drain fitted early hours of Wednesday morning, otherwise she wouldn’t have made it through the night. It is pure luck that we caught it when we did, but the research is vital as only 25 years ago this was a death sentence. I never thought this would happen to my child. She was vomiting daily and I put it down to excess stomach acid. Headaches were the minimal symptom, and to be honest it’s pure luck I got her seen that day for an MRI because she seemed fine.
Brain tumours are the biggest cause of cancer deaths in children and young people. I am still awaiting the results of the biopsy of this tumour. The neurosurgeons are absolutely incredible, they are confident that they have removed it all. I have no words to explain how grateful I am. The more research the better and if this could happen to Evie, it could happen to your child.
Please donate. Don’t ignore. Every penny will make a difference. Help me help Evie and other children like her.
