Story
I am embarking on a 7 day expedition through the Scottish highlands to fundraise for Overcoming MS. We start in the town of Milngavie, a few kilometres north of Glasgow and will trek north along the West Higland Way to Fort William in the Highlands - a 153km walk with +4000m vertical accent. The path passes many examples of stunning Scottish scenery including Loch Lomond (the largest freshwater lake in the UK), Rannoch Moor and the stunning mountains of Glen Coe. We are aiming to complete the Way in 6/7 days, wild camping in a small 2 man tent along the way!
This cause is very important to me as, over the past year, I have watched someone I hold dearly battle Multiple Sclerosis. I have seen the highs and the lows in their journey and I’m amazed at the strength they continue to show each day. They have taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance even during the hardest times we face in life.
Which is why I will complete my expedition in the hope that I can improve the lives of those struggling with MS - even if all I can do is help them find strength within themselves to keep battling.
Overcoming MS is the worlds leading multiple sclerosis healthy lifestyle charity. Over 2.8 million people worldwide live with multiple sclerosis, with many experiencing progressive disability over time. Although there is currently no cure for MS, it is believed believe that people with MS can lead positive and fulfilling lives.
I’d like to thank you for your generosity and support.
Love,
Megan
