Story
Hi,
As some of you may know, I'm participating this year in the Sue Ryder Starlight Hike in memory of my dad, Graham. I lost my Dad on the 14th July 2014, about 3 weeks after suddenly finding out he had a brain tumour (Glioblastoma Multiforme) which was too aggressive to treat.
During this time, Wheatfields Hospice provided amazing care at such short notice, and made my dad's days as comfortable as possible, while also providing reassurance . Just below, is some insight as to how valuable their services are.
£20 could pay for a patient’s meals for the day in one of our hospices. We always do our best to cater for someone’s individual preferences and dietary requirements.
£25 could fund an hour of expert care, so our Sue Ryder doctors and nurses can help manage patients’ pain and symptoms.
£40 could provide our personalised text support service Sue Ryder Grief Coach to someone who is grieving for a year, as well as gentle coaching for friends and family who want to support them.
If you have any spare change, please consider donating to this hike. It would be greatly appreciated and go to an amazing foundation. Thank you!
