Four years ago, I was hospitalized due to Ulcerative Colitis and returned home without my colon, but with a new Ostomy. It was a significant adjustment, yet it saved my life. I participated in the Calgary Ostomy Society's online meetings, where I received an abundance of support and information that assisted me in adapting to my new lifestyle.

Now, I'm contributing by establishing a new Peer Support Group in Medicine Hat and assisting with fundraising for our national campaign.

Let's all Step Up for Ostomy to increase awareness, eradicate stigma, and gather funds to improve the Ostomy Canada Programs!
