Story

Help Meadowside School raise money for vital cancer care! 💛

We are fundraising for the Big Space Cancer Appeal, which is building a new cancer centre in Gloucestershire. This facility will provide specialist care, state-of-the-art equipment, and ground-breaking research, creating a space for treatment, healing, and recovery for local patients.

As part of this, Meadowside School is thrilled to be taking part in Lions at Large – The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail, a free, family-friendly art event coming to Cheltenham and Gloucester in Summer 2025! Over 30 large lion sculptures, designed by local artists, will be joined by little lions, each created by schools and community groups, including our own!

Our children will be designing and decorating a lion, which will be displayed as part of the trail before returning to its forever home at Meadowside. This is an amazing opportunity for them to be involved in something creative and meaningful!

We know life is busy, but every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Please help us reach our £750 target by donating and sharing this page with family and friends.

Thank you for your support! 🦁🎨

In the Summer of 2025, Lions at Large – The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail will be ‘roaring’ onto the streets of Cheltenham and Gloucester!

Over 30 large Lion sculptures will be designed and painted by local artists; celebrating Gloucestershire’s rich history, culture and diversity.

They will be joined by our Cub Club – a pride of little Lions lovingly created by local schools and community groups.

This is a fun, free and family-friendly Wild in Art event. Streets, parks and open spaces will dazzle with their vibrant colours and surprising designs. Helping to bring together our community to explore and feel pride in their local area.

Once the trail is over, the pride will reunite for a fantastic farewell weekend. The little Lions will return to their forever homes at the local school and community groups who created them.

The Big Space Cancer Appeal is raising funds for a new cancer centre that will offer local patients the very best environment for treatment, healing and recovery, creating space to care, talk, think, recover, rest and innovate.

The sculpture trail is being produced by "Wild in Art" a leading producer of spectacular public art events.
