5K In May
Campaign by Doctors in Distress (RCN England & Wales #1184953, Scotland #SC049715)
This year our 5K in May campaign encourages you to take ‘One Step Forward’, both in terms of the physical challenge but also for healthcare workers to reach out for support by taking a step in the right direction

Story

Shockingly, in the UK alone, one doctor dies by suicide every three weeks, and one nurse every week. These numbers underpin the urgent need for mental health resources and support within the healthcare community.

Doctors in Distress provide initiatives to promote and protect the mental health of all health workers through a range of free programmes. This we are taking part in #5KInMay, to help them be able to continue this vital support.

The MDU are partners with Doctors in Distress to help with this initiative:

We are asking all staff to run, walk, horse ride, jump, skip, hop – whatever activity suits! - and help raise £20,000 to support NHS staff.
