Story

Two years ago, I joined the Elswick Harriers Non 2 Run programme having never ran in my life before. When asked what I wanted to achieve when I started running, it was to do the Great North Run never thinking it would become a reality. I have no doubt achieving half marathon distance is going to be a tough challenge for me but one I'm embracing. If you believe you can't, you won't but if you believe you can, you WILL and I am determined I WILL achieve my ambition of crossing that finish line on September 8th!

‘Daft as a Brush’ has given me the opportunity to not just to take part in my first ever Great North Run but to do it for a wonderful North East based charity.

The stress and anxiety of getting to hospital for cancer treatment is immense. Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care specialise in transporting cancer patients in a safe and comfortable environment to and from hospital for their Chemotherapy and / or Radiotherapy treatment, free of charge. If that stress can be removed it not only makes patients feel more relaxed but it also helps treatment to be delivered more efficiently and effectively.

The charity completes thousands of cancer patient journeys each year with a passionate team of hundreds of volunteers and a large fleet of ambulances. All donations received go directly to supporting cancer patients on their journey to recovery.

Please help keep the momentum going and the charity achieve its ambition of expanding the service nationally and providing 1 million cancer patient journeys throughout the whole of Great Britain and Ireland.

Let's work together towards a future where no one faces cancer alone. Together we can turn compassion into action and support people on their personal cancer journey.

If you are able to spare as much as you can to support this amazing charity and see me achieve my ambition, it would be very much appreciated. 🙏❤️

Many thanks and lots of love
