Story
Hello, I am Max, a gorgeous (so I'm told) German Shepherd Dog, who came into the care of Oldies Club in spring 2023, when my previous owner sadly passed away.
I have had various visits to the vets since being taken in by Oldies Club and they have just (early August) paid out £1369.89 for my vet bills. I had an infection on my boy bits (ouch!) that required antibiotics, and then I had to have an ultrasound and then surgery to be neutered, which included a scrotal ablation (ouch some more!).
Thankfully I came through my procedure fine, last month, but had to continue with the cone wearing for a while as things healed - we'll spare you the photo of that process! Further check-ups from the vet and vet nurse confirmed they were happy with how my wound was healing. I have also been receiving medication from the vets to help my skin and ears.
I have set up this page, with some human help, to appeal to Oldies Club supporters to help the charity raise the money to cover the costs of my vet bills. They have already had to pay out £13,000 in August for various dogs, including my handsome self, when we're not even a third of the way into the month, and I hope dog lovers will be kind and generous in donating towards these costs :-)
I am very glad that Oldies Club found a space for me in its care, with one of its lovely foster homes. I know that there are lots of other dogs that it is currently helping, along with many more it will want to be in a position to help in the future, so please donate whatever you can to help them continue their rescue work. It makes the world of difference to older dogs like me.
You can donate from just £2 via this page. Should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bills/care, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
Thank you,
Max x
