Story
I’m doing this for me, my Mum, and for everyone out there who is deaf, has hearing loss, or lives with tinnitus.
Hi, my name’s Max and I’m running the London Marathon for RNID. I’m committed to raising as much money as I can due to the amazing work they do. They work with communities to change society by making it more inclusive, help people hear better and fund world-class research.
I've suffered from tinnitus since November 2020, where I hear a constant high pitched noise. The past couple years has been a struggle living with the condition, but I've managed to adapt as best I can. However, I know there’s people out there who find it incredibly difficult and simply can’t get used to a constant noise in their head. RNID do brilliant work to help those that suffer from tinnitus. I can empathise with them and want to help as best I can by raising as much as I can.
RNID also help those who are deaf and have hearing loss. I have high frequency hearing loss, which is fortunately only mild, and I understand the challenge for those with hearing difficulties. My mum severely struggles with her hearing, but thankfully her hearing aids are very helpful in alleviating the situation. RNID assists those with these types of conditions and I’m eager to do what I can to help improve people's lives.
Running the London marathon is a huge target for me. I’m extremely keen to prove to myself that I can complete the challenge. Please donate what you can to help me, and particularly RNID. Your money will go to a great cause and I’m very grateful for anything you can give.
