Story
When my daughter Catherine was only seven days old we received a life changing phone call from the hospital that she had the rare metabolic disorder PKU. Catherine has a severly restricted diet and cannot eat the vast majorty of foods that we all take for granted, such as meat, fish, icecream, chocolate, bread etc. The majority of her food we have to get on script and the rest strictly weighed on scales. If Catherine eats too much protein, over time it can lead to severe brain damage and other side effects. Catherine takes all of this in her stride and is the happiest girl. If you could help myself, Catherine and her wee friend Sarah raise some money for the NSKPU by sponsoring us to take part in the 5k Rock the Lough run we would be so grateful🥰
On Sunday the 15th September 2024 the PKU community will come together to take part in races around the UK to fundraise £10,000 for the NSPKU.
The NSPKU use donations to support those living with PKU and their families through: education and research, support, community, advocacy and campaigning.
Please donate to enable the NSPKU to continue their work in supporting the PKU community!
