I am thrilled to represent Wetherby Prep as part of this collective effort to enhance access to quality education...

I was exceptionally fortunate to receive a great education, with my auntie as my head teacher. She instilled in me the importance of education, and I understand how critical it is. This is why I feel so motivated to support this cause and give as many students a diverse and robust start to their education—leading onto exceptional paths.

From 2021 to 2024, I worked closely with children eligible for Pupil Premium and Free School Meals, dedicating my summers to the FUEL program in Wiltshire. During this time, I progressed from Camp Coach to Camp Leader, gaining valuable experience in supporting and engaging young people. Those days spent nurturing a love for sport for these children, greatly influenced my decision to pursue a career in teaching.

The Gold Standard Charitable Trust does an excellent job of making bursaries possible and bringing in fantastic, talented pupils whose family economic circumstances would otherwise prevent them from attending a school like Wetherby Preparatory school, where I currently work. They are supporting 38 pupils with bursaries this year, and we are looking to increase this number further this year!

The Trust does not have an endowment, so they rely on fundraising events and appeals, such as this Half Marathon campaign, to raise the necessary funds each year.

Every penny raised will go directly to support a child receiving a bursary.

Wetherby has always had a great community spirit, and I am excited to see what we can do as a team for this event!
