Story

Smiles for Autism – Running for a Reason

Autism is a relatively new concept for me and my family, but it’s become a deeply personal journey—one that we’re learning and growing through together.

This year, I’ve chosen to support Autism Hampshire, a charity that provides vital services for autistic individuals, their families, and the wider community. From training and mentoring to supported living and community connection, Autism Hampshire is working every day to build a more inclusive and understanding world.

I’m proud to dedicate my London Marathon 2025 journey—and many other races—to raise awareness and funds for their life-changing work.

My Running Journey

I’ve already taken on races including the Farnborough Half, Bramley 20, Fleet and Reading Half Marathons, Festival Place 5k, and Parkruns, with many more to come—Endure 24, the Great South Run, Basingstoke Half/10k, and even the New York Marathon in November!

This isn’t just about the miles—it’s about making a difference with every step.

As part of my efforts, I’m also inviting business sponsors to support the cause by sponsoring my training tops. For just £50, your logo will travel with me to races, parkruns, and training sessions across the country—and receive recognition on social media and media platforms where my journey is being followed.

Why Your Support Matters

Autism Hampshire recently launched an urgent appeal to raise £50,000 to keep its Serendipity Community Groups running—essential lifelines that support over 200 autistic adults across Hampshire.

These groups have run for over a decade but now face a critical funding shortfall. Your donation could directly impact someone’s quality of life:

💙 £10 could pay for transport so someone can access a vital activity.

💙 £50 could buy sensory tools like noise-cancelling headphones or weighted blankets.

💙 £300 could provide 3 hours of autism training in schools, businesses, or the community.

With your help, we can keep these services going and support Autism Hampshire in continuing their amazing work.

Whether it’s a donation, a sponsorship, or simply sharing my story—thank you for being part of the journey.

Let’s spread smiles for miles.
